Casa Nuez is an old country house with lush land, pathways leading to secret gardens, horses grazing in the nearby fields and off the cobbled courtyard swallows are nesting in the tack room.  It is full of creeping and trailing plant life; roses, hibiscus, palm trees, orange trees, grapefruit trees, wisteria, iris, jacaranda trees, agapanthus, and more.  The scents are a delight, the colours beautiful and the views stunning, reaching across the fertile fields of the working farm and landscape beyond.  This house is full of adventures, a place where the imagination is stirred and stories written by Enid Blyton and J.K.Rowling come alive.

In 1985 the owner came up from the coast to live on the estate, keeping the original character of the farmhouse while refurbishing it in 2011 into a comfortable retreat full of light and charm.  As the owner lives on the farm she is always available and is wonderfully friendly and loving towards her home and guests. Casa Nuez consists of a main house with the kitchen, grand living area and four bedrooms comfortably sleeping eight.  Across the cobbled courtyard is the annex with a seating area and an extra four double bedrooms.  Beyond the house and through the mature hedges is the secluded pool area, with a garden, cabana and palm tree shadowing over head.  This is a fantastic and unconventional house, superb for families with children or a group looking for privacy in a totally relaxed environment.  

The estate can be rented as a whole, sleeping 16 or simply the main house which sleeps 8. 

The Main House

Entering from the central courtyard is the open plan kitchen and adjacent indoor dining area seating up to ten with beamed ceilings and an open fireplace.  The kitchen is simple but well equipped with fridge freezer, dishwasher, 4 ring gas hob, electric oven and a microwave.  There is a conservatory leading from the kitchen with an outdoor eating area, seating up to twenty plus comfortable sofas, chairs and filled with tropical indoor plants.  Back past the indoor dining is the living area, the features are striking with exposed wooden beams, stone floors and a grand open fireplace.  This is a truly lived-in farmhouse room, comfortable, welcoming, adorned with antique furniture and family paintings hanging on the walls.  French doors lead to the large outside terraces where the stunning views can be admired.  On the same ground floor level are two bedrooms with double beds, both are snug rooms with French doors leading out to the grounds.  They share a bathroom which has a bath and walk in shower.

Up the sturdy wooden staircase and along the landing are two more bedrooms with double beds.  Through the original country style windows there is a stunning view over the working farm and countryside.  Beams embellish the ceilings and the bedrooms are delicately decorated with antique furniture.  There is also a bathroom between these two rooms with a large shower.

The Annex

The separate annex has been recently reformed in a rustic style and has plenty of character.  There is a downstairs area to sit, play a few card games or relax on the sofa.  The room is fresh and a fabulous retreat from the heat.  Also on this level is a downstairs bedroom and bathroom.  The upstairs is spacious with three bedrooms placed along a corridor each overlooking the courtyard and main house.  The rooms are charming and comfortable.  One double bedroom has its own bathroom with walk in shower and double basin.  The French doors open to look out at the views beyond.  Along the hallway is a twin room and another double bedroom, both sharing a bathroom with walk in shower, bath and basin.  Another staircase leads you back down to the entrance.

There is a separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, located near the stables and annex.

There is no air conditioning in the house, but being an old building the house is cool in the summer months and rooms fans are provided.

Outside Area

A winding track leads you to a circular private drive with palms, citrus and almond trees where there is parking for up to ten vehicles.  Through the entrance gate is the cobbled courtyard, providing privacy between the main house and annex.  Archways lead to gardens and the stables where you can hear the sound of birds chirping in the roof.  Beyond here is the pool, an idyllic area with views of the countryside and horses in the next door field.  There is a wonderful cabana for some shade and maybe a few cocktails and sun beds for soaking up the hot Spanish sun.  The pool is a wonderful size and heavenly, surrounded by plenty of lawn and luscious plants.

The front of the main house has a large stone terrace. There are plenty of seating areas, you can enjoy shade under the mature trees and plants or soak up the sunshine while gazing at the orange trees, mountains and white villages in the distance.  There is also a barbeque area and outdoor lighting for night time dining. 

The private tennis court is a five minute stroll along the farm track;  rackets are also available for guests to use.  

Riding can also be arranged from the stables which are on the grounds.

The lands and the gardens are incredibly tranquil and absolutely stunning, with panoramic views across the Spanish countryside.  The original stables, farmland and surrounding fields add to this beautiful farmhouse.  The house also has an exciting history.  It was built beside an ancient trail once used by fish merchants and smugglers travelling from the coast.

Extra Details:

This villa is Located in the countryside only a ten minute drive away from Gaucin and fifteen minutes from the white village of Jimena de la Frontera.  A car is recommended during your stay as this is a remote location. Gaucin itself is perfectly situated in the Andalucian mountains to enjoy both the cultural and historic cities and the buzz and glamour of the coastal towns. The mountains provide a sense of peace with wonderful walks, horse riding and many other cultural activities and art filled pleasures. The coast being so close also allows you to explore and have some fun on the water, take your pick of many golf courses or indulge in the boutiques and nightlife. Travelling to Gaucin

We recommend you fly into Malaga, approximately 115 km from Gaucin or Gibraltar (a little closer) approximately 58 km .  Check out skyscanner  to compare prices.  You can even fly to Jerez or Seville.  

We do recommend hiring a car while you are out here, the journey from either airport is not hard.  You can take in some of the breathtaking scenery on the way to Gaucin and the Andalucian Mountains.

Prices, Booking and Cancellation Policies

The main house can also be rented separately sleeping 8. Weekend rental is also available out of season. Minimum of three nights.

  • Changeover day is on a Saturday but can be flexible, please enquire.
  • Arrival time is 4pm and departure 11am.
  • All linen is provided plus beach towels. A weekly change is included in the rental.
  • A £250 damage deposit is required in cash upon arrival.  This will be returned upon your departure should there be no damage to the property.

Booking Policy:

30% deposit will be required on booking.
Final 70% must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival.  If your holiday commences in less than 8 weeks or if the total value of your booking is less than £200.00 / €250.00 full payment will be due when you book.

Once your reservation deposit has been received Jampot Villas will send you a booking confirmation which confirms the contract between you and the owners of the house.  If we do not receive the balance by the date outlined (8 weeks prior to arrival), we reserve the right to cancel your booking and levy the cancellation charges that are set out in the 'Cancellation Policy'.

Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason you need to cancel your booking, you must inform Jampot Villas by telephone and by email.  Your cancellation will be confirmed upon receipt of email.  If receipt of cancellation is received more than 8 weeks prior to the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit.  If received within 8 to 2 weeks before the start of your rental date you will forfeit your deposit plus 40% of the total rental price will be charged.  If received within 2 weeks before the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit plus the remainder 70% will be charged (the full amount is payable).

In the unlikely case that JamPot Villas has to cancel a booking we will notify you immediately and try to offer an alternative. In case of non-acceptance of the alternative by the renter, JamPot Villas will reimburse the renter all payments made and the renter loses any rights other than the reimbursement of payments made.

We do advise that you purchase suitable personal and travel insurance to cover the risk of cancellation due to ill health or force majeure.  

Damage Deposits:

Certain properties require a Damage Deposit, the amount (outlined on the individual properties) will be due in cash upon arrival and returned on your departure day after inspection of the property. Should any breakage or damage occur during your stay you must inform the house manager and Jampot Villas immediately.

Availability & Booking
